In the 1910 Federal census, Helena and Francis Victor were both living on Lamartine Street in Worcester, MA. Helena’s age is listed as 22, Francis Victor’s age is listed as age 20.

The author has a record of a marrage between Helena Piasta and a Stanislaus Pijka, on May 30, 1910, in Worcester, MA. Helena’s parents are listed as Francis Piasta and Marianna Grec.

The author has a death certificate for Francis Victor Piasta, who died in Millbury, MA on January 12, 1962.

Francis Victor’s parents names are listed as Franciszek (Frank) Piasta and Mary Anna Grecz.

NOTES: All above children’s names, except Estelle, come from the 1920 / 30 / 40 Federal census. A grand daughter, Katie Brown, posted to a website ” Polish Forums “, correctly, all of the above listed children, and included an Estelle.

1910 – Federal census: Helena Piasta and Francis were living on Lamartine St. in Worcester. The head of the household is listed as Peter Kilaman (age 23) and spouce, Mary J Kilaman (age 25). Helena’s relationship to the head of the household (Peter) is listed as ” sister – in law “. Being sister – in – law to the head of the household does ” add up ” based on the following data. Mary Kilamon should have been Helena’s sister. There is a record of a marriage between a Porter Kilimon and a Mary Piasta on February 4, 1907, in Worcester, MA. (Page 485, Line 192). Mary’s parents are recorded as Francis Piasta and Maria Zaleski. Helena’s mother’s name, Maryanna Grec does not match. Being ” half ” sister – in – law might.

This is the one ” thin ” possibility: The elder Francis was 1st married to Maria Zaleski and had a daughter, Mary, born about 1885. Maria Zaleski died. Elder Francis then married Marrianna / Mary Grec / Grecz (Helena and Francis Victor’s parent’s). Helena was born about 1888, Francis Victor was born about 1890. (Years of birth are confirmed, but the logic is not).

For census reporting purposes, Helena could have been recorded as ” sister – in – law “. The flaw in this thinking is, why is Frank, living with his sister Helena, in the same household of Peter and Mary Kilamon listed as a boarder and not a brother – in – law?, if Helena is a half sister – in – law to Mary Kilaman? 

1920 Federal census: Name listed as Helen Pike, spouce as Stephen Pike. Living on Taylor St, Worcester, MA. Children listed are: Stacia, Chester, Helen, and Walter.

1930 Federal census: Name listed as Helena Pajka , spouce as Stanley Pajka. Living on Lamartine St, Worcester, MA. The additional ” new additions ” to the family are also listed: Frances, Stanley, and Tadeusz.

1940 Federal census: Name listed as Helen Paker , spouce as Stanley Paker. Renting on So Stowell St, Worcester, MA. By 1940, Stacia was about 28, and living on her own. The rest of the children were still living with their parents. All of the names are, except for Estella, are confirmed in Katie Brown’s document. (See below in documents).

SUSPISION / POSSIBLE but UNCONFIRMED FAMILY LINK: 

IS FRANCISZEK PIASTA, PITOR PIASTA, AND / OR FELIX PIASTA RELATED?

Pitor Piasta, Felix Piasta and Stanislaus Pajka were all from the same small village of Gibalka Poland. (documented)

Pitor had a son, Jozef born 1868, and a son Adam born February 1873. It is possible Franciszek was a brother of Jozef and Adam, born in the 4 + year gap between Jozef and Adam. (birth year and month / birth year confirmed)

The author has strong, but unconfirmed, evidence that suggests Pitor and Felix were brothers. (Gibalka documented)

If Pitor and Felix were not brothers, could Franciszek be related to Felix?

Katie has documentation that her grandfather Stanislaus Pajka, came from Gibalka, Poland. (documented)

Stanislaus Paika married Helena Piasta in Worcester, MA in 1910. (documented) Is it possible that Helena came from the same village as Stanislaus, they knew each other as youngsters in Poland, and then got married in Worcester, MA ?.

The flaw in this suspicion is: Francis Victor was born in Plozk, not Gibalka. (Death certificate).

Katie / Catherine Brown, if she is still alive, might have the documentation to link this ALL together.

Pitor Piasta, Felix Piasta and Stanislaus Pajka all came from the same small village in Poland.
